Memorial Day-Enjoy and remember...
#1
Doesn't mean that the holiday can't be celebrated; just remember why. I reference Steve G.'s post down a bit:

i just put the flag up on the terrace.

not many flags flying off residences in the nw bronx.

i always fly the flag on holidays.

to me, there is a reverence that is demanded.

from 2016-2020 the flag was flown upside down as a distress signal.

this year there is a sadness: buffalo, uvalde, roe, fla vs disney.

but we still need to be hopeful and thus remain committed to acknowledging the debt of others who allowed us to live in a country though riddled with problems is still "free".

thumbs up.

The Chief ’s eye flashed; but presently
Softened itself, as sheathes
film the mother-eagle’s eye
When her bruised eaglet breathes:

‘You’re wounded!’ ‘Nay’, his soldier’s pride
Touched to the quick, he said:
‘I’m killed, Sire!’ And, his Chief beside,
Smiling, the boy fell dead.
