By a long shot, not just Yes. Saw him a couple times with Yes.
Great player.

Wow. I sure didn't see that one coming. Hell of a rhythm section up in R&R heaven now with him and Chris Squire. R.I.P.

Saw him with Yes six times. Great player able to effortlessly play Bill Brufords parts while bringing his own unique style to Yes's music.

Still amazing to me that he was hired and had to learn so much of that catalog just days before their tour started back in '72.

More talent lost, but his work is available for ever. These forever bands are the musical version of the Ship of Theseus…

Saw him in L.A. in 1975, and one of the girls at the Yes merch booth gave me a bunch of free t-shirts. Heck, if I'da known these guys were gonna die, I woulda tried to talk the booth babe into getting the t-shirts autographed. Kept three t-shirts (1 yellow + 2 white), and gave the rest away. One of the white ones survived long enough for Baby Buzz to wear it as oversize pajamas.... he had a thing for my old, well-worn t-shirts.
Sorry about the passings of all these music greats, but I think part of dealing w/ the loss of the legends has to do with just how incredibly long their careers are able to be maintained. Many span multiple generations, so they imprint on entire families, not just ma and pa.
