The Greatest Spectacle in Racing: Indy 500 Sunday start @ 12:45 pm ET

What's remarkable is that within a few years, this carbon-based tech will have been replaced and the only place you'll be able to see these gasoline monsters will be at Indy.

It will probably resemble horse-racing. The ubiquitous horses, formerly seen on the streets and fields by the millions have been reduced to a handful running around an oval and of interest to horse-riding hobbyists. (Of course, the city streets are smelling a LOT better for it.)

Indy will go electric. They’ll fast swap battery packs or something. The track will probably pipe recorded engine noise to the stands and the TV audience.

I've had Dan's business card in my wallet for 20 years.

We tried at one point to do a sponsorship/service deal with Castrol when Force was their focus. In the 1990s. They asked us for a RFP. So, somehow, after that they learned that Force had to sign off on it.

We did a conference call with the Castrol PR exec and Force.

Force was his obstinate and making little sense self. He ended the conference call by saying "Fuck you Jack!" and hanging up.

Castrol PR guy was like ... "Well, it seems John doesn't want us to do this ..."

We were not surprised. Force is kind of homer simpson trapped in the body of a drag racer.

Today’s Monaco F1 Grand Prix was much more entertaining (and without the incessant advertising!) :gears:

Yes, but according to Jim's daughters, John Forces daughters and wife were great. Sometimes that is the way families are. Jim is very crusty until you get to know him, and you earn his respect. I found out that being humble and inquisitive was a great place to come from.
