Is Putin laughing?
#1
I have the feeling Putin is a happy man with his copies or verbal information from his buddy. Too much time for the secrets to just sit in a drawer or box. I wonder if any spies are compromised if it will be reported.

Hopefully, time will tell.

I can't imagine him being happy about anything right now. When your adversary knows that you know their secrets, then it's all for naught.

Sources could be compromised, but I would think that those secrets have time value and the older they get the less useful the are.

"Yeah, I thought the same about my last job. Brought home the office supplies, chairs, name tag, work laptop, copier and a few company secrets entrusted to me, with me, after all, I did work there for a couple years, right? Oh snap, did I mention the company car is in my driveway, 2yrs later? Why are cops standing next to it tho, giving me mean looks?!! Lol Ok Mr Trump. Lock The Orange Up!!!"

But what if the "secrets" that Trump had in his possession were in fact misinformation because the handlers of that information KNEW he was an unreliable and leaky holder of such information...

Putin might be smiling now thinking he's holding aces but in fact be stuck with rotten onions.

Huh
If the “secrets” being discussed here belong to the U.S., then wouldn’t the “you” in this statement be someone like Russia or North Korea?
If then the U.S. knows that Russia or North Korea knows these U.S. secrets, why would their knowledge of those secrets become “for naught”?

They would definitely not become less critical to those sources!
