Shuffle and Podcasts in the same sentence, good or bad?
#1
Hi, I expect an iPod Nano soon (form a promotion posted here last December) and I am gonna put 2nd Gen 20 gig to backup use as a firewire HD. Now, I would like to listed to podcasts in the car and in the lab at work, but I think a Shuffle would be easier to move around, keep in my shirt pocket or attached to the gown I have to wear in the clean room. Does Shuffle play nice with Podcasts? or should I better stick to Nano?

Also, I know what to expect form Nano (as I said, I have an older iPod, and wife has a Mini). But I am a little skeptical of a blind iPod (no display). Can you find what you're looking for? I guess with music would not be such a big deal, I wouldn't mind listening to a song twice, but I cannot say the same about Podcasts.

any opinions? at the moment I am 50-50. HELP!

I can't help you much on ease of use with the podcasts. I just got my new shuffle today. I did load a podcast on it, and I think to play it, you have to just put the music on to play in order (not shuffle) and click until you get to it. I'm not thinking it's going to be a big deal.

I can tell you this. I had a video iPod. I did love it, but I passed it on to one of my daughters to upgrade her from a Nano. As much as I think the video iPod is totally cool, I LOVE this new shuffle! It is SO nice to clip it on and go. I know I'll get a lot more use out of it because I won't have to worry about carrying it around. It is great!

Just to add - I was listening to my Shuffle last night, and my Dave Ramsey podcast came right up in the middle of my shuffling. I'm guessing it depends on the podcast type as to whether or not it will come up. Of course, I fell asleep listening to it, so now I have to find it again!

Something with a display will be friendlier for podcasts
