can you push email back onto server?
#1
I often need to access email on the web from a public computer, so its convenient when my messages stay on the server. Recently, something has been happening, either a glitch with Yahoo or with Mail, but they all get deleted. Is there a good way to put them back on?

Yes, you can do this.

This recently happened to me when for some unknown reason Yahoo mail deleted all my email prior to Oct 2006.

Since I had it downloaded into Thunderbird (Entourage would also work) via POP3, I was able to 'redirect' my email back to my account. In addition, I also redirected it to a gmail account as a 2nd online backup.

Note you need POP access to perform this and an SMTP server than supports redirection. You probably want to limit redirection to like 300-500 emails per hour, or you might get flagged as a spammer.

Google 'thunderbird redirect extension' as redirection is an add-on for thunderbird.
