MacOS San Andres Fault will have to be a heck of a lot better than Ventura before I will even consider getting a current Mac.

Costco also has the M2 Pro version for $100 less than the Apple Education discount ($1099).

MUST RESIST!

My Mac mini is more than enough to do what it does.

I bought one of these a few weeks ago, left it in the box with a deadline return shipping due date - yesterday... thinking that if the price came back to $500 I'd return it... that day was YESTERDAY and I did not send it back. Now I wish I had, I'd be set for whatever WWDC brings.

(I do plan to put it into service next week... since I have it.)

I really think that this config exists ONLY so Apple can say, 'M2 Mac Mini, starting at $599'

This is not a configuration that I would recommend to anyone. I say don't buy it!

My M1 mini with base configuration rocks and does everything I need inc editing 1080p video.

It's the same price at B&H, with 'tax free' payboo.

I'd want at least 512G/16G, myself.
