Air Jordan Movie - Thumbs up and maybe free!
#1
I saw previews of the "Air" movies a few months ago and it looked very good. It tells the story of how Nike pursued rookie Michael Jordan to represent Nike, rather than the more popular Adidas at that time.
The two stars I know are Matt Damon and Jason Bateman. They were excellent, but the whole movie was very good. I am in no way a fan of basketball, but the story is very good and has all sorts of memorabilia from 1984. That's fun for those of us that are in the older folks set.

The movie was just recently in theaters, but since it was produced by Amazon, it's already streaming for free on Amazon Prime. It's worth more than the price of admission!

Yup, watched it on Sunday. Entertaining, and if you like 80s music, you'll love all of the music in it.

We were going to see it in the theatre, but then my parents told us it's free on Prime. Saved us over $80 for 4 of us (the local AMC now charges $18 per ticket!).

imo Viola Davis stole the show as Mike's mom and the smart person in the room - she should get a supporting actress nomination for this I hope.

It seems so many movies have a very short stint in theaters anymore, and then go to streaming and then to disc, in short order.

I suspect going to theater is to qualify for Oscars.

I'm not a sports guy, and definitely not a b-ball guy, but Damon and Bateman might be enough to get me to check it out.

Just finished watching it. Very enjoyable. May have to watch The Last Dance now. Smile

Yup. I believe it was Netflix that bought a theater pretty much just for this purpose.
