With 2–3× the speed of the previous generation. They mention 'silicon designed in house' but also says it runs a "Broadcom BCM2712 2.4GHz quad-core 64-bit Arm Cortex-A76 CPU, with cryptography extensions, 512KB per-core L2 caches and a 2MB shared L3 cache"

PCIe 2.0 x1 interface for fast peripherals (requires separate M.2 HAT or other adapter)

Looks like preorders only right now.

I guess I'll wait for a review before I make any judgements, although my Pi 4 is doing just fine for home server work.

great summary.

Lots of nice little improvements. Double usb bandwidth gets my attention.

It'll be interesting to see what accessories are made for it. My 'dream' setup would be PoE and ssd support.
