Make it STOP! (Safari 17.0)
#1
Monterey had a macOS update and a Safari update to v17.0.

Along with somehow importing bookmarks from Safari (deselected from iCloud) in another computer, there are now favicons beside the bookmark names in the Favorites bookmark menu bar, instead of in the URL window.

I don't like this and would like to 'turn them off' if possible.

Is there a toggle or box to untick to get rid of them?

I didn't see anything in Safari prefs, bookmark menu, or in DuckDuck.

They take up room I need, especially in MacBook Safari.

Eliminating them singly might be nice, but if it's all or none, none is fine by me.

Two-finger click on the menu bar. Turn off "Show icons".

Ah, all is right with the world.

Or at least a little tiny part of it.

douitashimashite (the forum won't allow me to write in Japanese!) I was faced with the same problem and found the answer somewhere.

Don't touch your mustache!

Finding the transliteration takes a bit of a search, and being gaijin to the language, finding the appropriate response is by guess and by golly.

Thanks again.
