What is this all about?

If I am reading the summaries I came across, basically they are charging Google with using some of its apps as spyware. But since it is just a preliminary notice I haven't looked deeper into it.

I did notice that Gmail initially sorted it into my spam folder, funny coincidence? In any case there is an actual lawsuit that has been certified as a class action.

This is why I suppose that Google is ending Google Maps Timeline on web browsers. Limiting it to devices vs it's servers. Which is something that I absolutely hate. I'm sorry that people haven't learned to appreciate the pleasure of using Timeline, but taking it off web browsers means that you can only view it on a phone.

My Timeline goes back to 2009. I can always reference where I've been. Just today, I needed to know the location of a photo that I took in 2017. I viewed the original creation date and time of the photo in the exif data.

I then, went to Timeline and drilled down where I was at 2:15 pm 15 seconds which yielded the very specific location in San Francisco of where I took the shot.

I have 2 gmail accounts and one of them has already taken away the web browser view. Everything is too cramped and impossible on a phone.

There hasn't been one day that Google has fked me over so I don't see what all the panic is about. People claiming they have problems don't know what the hell they're talking about. They just hate Google because people are haters. Same with Apple haters.

For my main Gmail account they've extended the deadline to switch to device only to June 25th thank goodness.
