Thank you gentlemen and gentlewomen. I feel reassured now.
I know I'm in the right.
I have a strange feeling the buyer is gonna get over on me.
I don't need the Ebay money. Just a time killer. Winter was slow in the plumbing business.
I'm leaning toward giving a full refund then reselling but fuck, lost fees, relisting, more shipping.
Dude has 9 feedback.
Freakin noobs.
I was gonna put up a nice PowerMac G5 this weekend but if Paypal is goning to put a hold on my account why bother.

[quote Plumbking]Apple said warranty void cause case was opened.
UMM it’s 2 years old and I am allowed to open the case to, I don’t know upgrade the RAM or something.
If the iMac is 2 years old and you didn't sell it with AppleCare then there is no warranty. Tell Paypal that you want to see the estimate from Apple. You need to look for the inconsistencies in his story and point them out to Paypal. I sold a cordless phone system a few years ago and made a call with it the day before I packed it. The guy did the same thing as here. He told Paypal 6 weeks later that it showed up D.O.A. Having learned here (or maybe the old place). I told Paypal that I had the serial number documented (I didn't) and wanted it sent to me. The dispute was closed in my favor because Paypal never heard from the guy again. Just the blind threat was enough.
G5 iMacs were user upgradeable so the case being opened would not void the warranty. Make sure you point this out!

You must not have heard the one about how somebody posted a house on Craigslist and told everyone that they could take whatever they wanted from inside. Turns out the house didn't belong to the original poster, so everything was stolen from the house, even the Kitchen sink.
Bad things happen everywhere, not just eBay.

and how is it eBay's fault that this guy is an A$$?
Push Paypal for an investigation. I sold a Laser DiscPlayer to an A$$ about a year and half
ago and he claim I sold him a broken disc player. Well I had video of it working. He
claimed I knew it was broken before shipping it. It finally came down to him having to ship
the player to Paypal for inspection. He was not willing to do that, case closed. It was even
shipped to an Unconfirmed Address. If he had claimed he hadn't received it they would
have paid off. Fedex even told me they would have paid off no questions asked because it
was such a small amount. This same guy has done similar stunts since then. I know
because a seller questioned me about my problems with him. He left me a neg. and he
got one back.
So no Paypal does not always side with the buyer. Our feedback is over 3000 and yes
we've dealt with our share of A$$'s but peoples mentality is not eBay's fault.
