does apple's 10-day price guarantee apply to refurbs?
#1
anyone know? Here's their policy--doesn't specifically state anything about refurbs, though:

http://www.apple.com/support/store/postpurchase.html

"If Apple reduces the price on any product within 10 calendar days of shipment, you can request a refund or credit of the difference between the price you were charged and the current price. To receive the refund or credit you must contact Apple within 14 business days of shipment. To request a refund, please contact Apple Sales Support. "

IIRC, yes. Happened on the 11th day to me two years ago when I bought a refurb. Keep in mind, it's CALENDAR days and not business days.

I got it recently on a refurb well after 10 days

I just bought a refurb macbook and noticed this morning that the price had gone down $100. So I just called Apple and was shot down. The CS rep said it was not available on refurbished products. I'm going to call again and see what another CS reps says...

I got it on a 3G iPod (-$20 ) few years back and last year on an iMac (-$50 ) .

You just have to go up the food chain if CSR sez nyet.

EDIT: Both items were refurbs!

Apple website reads:

"Should Apple reduce its price on ANY SHIPPED PRODUCT within 10 calendar days of shipment, you may contact Apple Sales Support at 1-800-676-2775 to request a refund or credit of the difference between the price you were charged and the current selling price. "

"Any shipped product" sounds like refurbs are not exempt to me. I would stress Apple's own wording to any rep I speak to.

"Any" product, in the absence of disclaimers, means just that -- any product.
