Best place to sell a car: eBay, AutoTrader, Craigslist, some other place?

[quote Chupa Chupa]I'm a little uneasy by the cash aspect. It just seems a little unnatural to carry a suitcase of cash out of the bank, and then pile it up at your bank for deposit like in a movie.
When selling a car I'm perfectly happy to have the seller bring cash. If he won't do cash, then have the transaction done at the seller's bank. That way, you both go to the window and you witness him get a cashier's check which he/she then gives to you in exchange for the title. I won't accept a cashier's check (or personal check) if I don't witness it being created by the bank. They are just too easy to counterfeit and there are plenty of stories of people losing money this way.

I have had great difficulty in helping my landlady sell her like new Corolla, 20,000 miles on an 2001 on CL. It is phony sounding but this car is perfect. Wants $8500 which is right. Offers come in at $7000 to $5000 by aggressive people with "cash" as if it would make a difference. I hate selling used cars. When the "customer" gets serious, kicking tires and pointing out miniscule flaws while trying to beat me down on price I have to turn away and walk. Good reason to run cars into the ground. Last Buick 200,000 miles but it was the body damage that made me junk it. Of course the Cressida burned up solving that problem.
