I didn't know this...was in a situation where I needed to use this, and no dice. I totally remember the lady's voice from childhood.
I actually used to love dialing "Pop-CORN"...i used to have to stand on a chair to reach the top numbers on the phone (early push-button)...i once slipped off and broke my arm.. Love that pop-corn...

Back in the day, we got time and the weather forecast by dialing some number(s) that have escaped me. This was in Milwaukee, WI.

Used to dial a number to get that info back in the early 70's in South Dakota.
Back when cable was only channels 2-13; they had a camera set up at our local airport that would pan analog gauges for time, temp, barometric pressure, wind, etc. to broadcast on one of the channels. That was our "weather channel".
