OT: How to jack up and level a garden shed?
#1
What tools should I use to lift up and level a garden shed? Are there some such jacks that I can leave in place for later readjustment? There isn't much room between the floor of the shed and the ground. Thanks.

I need to do that, too. I thought about pouring a concrete pad (or using stepping stone. Jacking it up. Then putting some cinder blocks under it. Forgot about those adjustable jack things. Not sure how they'd weather, though.

If it's not too big and I couldn't get a jack underneath, I'd bolt a small piece of 2x4 to the corner and put a bottle jack underneath it to lift the corner. Then lower onto cinder blocks/pressure treated 2x4 or 4x4 pieces to the level height.

Aw, just put chocks under the wheels of the mower and you'll be fine.

I used a small one-ton, 15" lift, hydraulic automobile lift jack, the kind with a 2' handle that you can remove and that has wheels at both ends. I dug out a shallow pit near each corner to put the jack in and then just lifted the corner and slid some square 2" thick concrete pavers under, then used PT wood for shimming. I left the pits there at each corner for later relevelling if needed. Worked great. That jack also lifted the deck under my hot tub, water still in it, for shimming the support posts. Essential tool for the homeowner as well as the mechanic.
