Help: Intel iMac won't stay awake!!??

Friends,

I'm using telephony software that requires the computer be awake at all times.

Although I've changed the sleep preferences to "never," the computer still falls asleep.

Is there anything I can do to stop this?

My intel mac is too polite to ask for one, but when offered, has never turned down the offer of a double espresso with whipped cream, a mug of tea, or a good hot thermos full of black coffee.
