Most efficient Air Purifier
#1
I'm currently in the market for one of these air purifiers thats pretty popular to have around the house to cut down in air borne allergens. I was just wondering which of these air purifiers is the best and most efficient when taking into consideration its overall good dependability and in a down market with it's cost?

Don't waste your $. None of them work. They are all marketing gimmicks. The only ones that have any effectiveness at all are the one installed on a central A/C system and even those really need to be install when the system is being designed for best results. Retrofitting is possible but not a good as if it's part of a designed system.

Yup, marketing BS. That's why all the vacuum cleaner companies have gotten into it. Just another way to separate the stupid consumer from their money.

btw, HEPA was replaced years ago by the ULPA standard. HEPA is now sales pitch gibberish.

HEPA refers to a specific kind of filter. A generic name for a extremely high efficiency filter. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HEPA

I deal in dust collectors for evacuating sandblasting rooms or spaces and when lead or any other extremely toxic substance is involved my 99.7% efficiency filters HEPA filters can often be required at the exhaust of the dust collector for additional insurance for the collected toxic materials to not be put into the air outside. They are part of a system not a stand alone type unit.

Would be useful for air conditioner or heating inlet but these conventional systems could not pull air through the HEPA filter due to resistance in addition. Really out of the question. For a stand alone unit in the room the ventilation would have to be evenly dispersed by negative or positive pressure around the room. A heavy duty HVAC system, can we talk?

Must stop selling, no sales pitches. It is Saturday and besides my customers don't listen to me either based on current sales.

Why not just buy one of these and you get good pleated filters almost anywhere.
