The MacUpdate special today is HoudahGeo and while I'm interested in the software (and will probably spring the $20 for it) it's gotten me to thinking about other uses of a GPS logging device.
I travel around town for work, but don't get reimbursed for my mileage so I really need to start tracking it so I can take the itemized deduction (I already itemize my deductions, so this will just be additional itemizations). If I get one of the small GPS logging devices, is there a somewhat easy way for it to track my progress (in my car) and then run the log through some program to determine how far I drove each day?
Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated, in addition to good devices for me to look at. While money's tight right now, spending $75 on a GPS device will easily bring me an additional several hundred dollars in deductions (which, at my current tax bracket, should at least get me the $75 back in next year's refund).
TIA,
