update on my MacPro ordering post
#1
After looking at the numbers i only saw only one real choice.

apple.com
dual 2.8 quad-core current model - new = $2799 + $230.92 tax = $3029.92
dual 2.8 quad-core current model - refurb = $2399 + $197.92 tax = $2596.92
dual 2.6 dual-core lastgen model - refub = $1999 + $164.00 tax = $2163.92

amazon.com
dual 2.8 quad-core current model - new = $2748.49 + no tax +150 rebate = $2598

After thinking about it i figured the new models are the best long term option. New, no tax, $150 rebate, amazon being good with returns and next day shipping sealed the deal for me.
The free shipping (5-7 days plus them filling the order) just takes forever and the two day shipping was $70. I signed up for one year of amazon prime shipping for $79 and upgraded my shipping to next day for another $7, and all my orders from amazon for the next year are free two day shipping. Hope this helps anyone on the fence for the best MacPro deal out right now imho.

p.s forgot to add i signed up for a amazon card got zero interest for 12 months and a $25 amazon card, and possibly a another $30 back for my first purchase.

That was kind of the way I was leaning as well. I have amazon prime as well that I've used the heck out of over the last year or so. Plus you get a new machine as opposed to the refurb for a couple dollars more.

But now I'm on the fence again. This time about whether I should go macpro or imac.

I couldn't justify the 8 cores for myself, but I can see where others could.

Enjoy it. The MacPros are eerily quiet.
