Sad but typical upper tier Yankee fan eyeing an opportunity to pounce. She was clearly looking for trouble and tragically for the victim, found it. I hope she gets what should be coming to her. Just one more reason to hate the Yankees and some of their doltish fans who fail to realize it is just a game.

I was going to say of course it was a Yankee fan, then thought better of it since I am unfortunately related to some, then decided what the heck: of course it was a Yankee fan.

As a sox fan I will say there are some among us that act as stupidly as the worst of the Yankee fans.
Nothing excuses the behavior of this woman, no matter who "her team" was, or in what way that team may have been insulted.

I've also noticed that since the "Curse" was dispatched and the team won yet again that more than a few Sox fans have taken on that NY patina and arrogance. That's really stupid. They're sitting on the greatest rivalry in pro sports and instead of reveling in and enjoying it they're turning it something ugly. Like me, they should stick to stick to just spray painting cars sporting Yankee insignia . ![]()

I think the Sox/Yanks thing has less to do with it than the state of the driver.
Note: This happened in the town where I live.

Nice try, but Yankee Stadium is the only MLB stadium that I don't feel comfortable wearing the opponent's gear. And not out of some irrational fear or stereotype. I've seen the harassment, the spitting, the heckling there. I've been to plenty of other stadiums in opponents gear and at worst I'll get an evil eye, and always just watch the game and cheer my team in peace. At least I'm in good company with $tevie though.

This has way more to do with drunk driving than "a reason to hate the Yankees." It's not like Jeeter was driving the car. Some people are simply morons. |
