Download font to printer?
#1
Is there a program or utility that will let me download a font to my HP Postscript printer?

Printing from FreeHand is broken under 10.5.2. Any font in the document gets substituted with Courier unless converted to a path.

Does the printer have any built-in storage space? I remember some of the higher-end Apple printers used to have room for a small hard drive that could store fonts.

What Computer system? If you can run Classic find Apple Printer Utility. That should download them ok. If you can't find it I might be able to email it to you from work sometime today.

Freehand? You really need to make the switch to Illustrator. I would just keep a 10.4 partition on your hard drive and boot into it on the rare occasion that you need to make minor changes to an old freehand document and print it.

Chiris... I'm running a MacPro (intel). Switch to Illustrator? I've got 20+ YEARS of customer art files done in FreeHand.

Mmmm, the back up partition sounds promising. I'm wondering... can I run 10.4.11 on the intel machine?

It depends... which Mac Pro is it? You can check everymac.com and see if that OS came on it standard from the factory. If so, you can install 10.4.11 on it.
