Hooking Up Network Printer in Fusion-Need Help
#1
I have a brother 2170W that I am trying to hook up in Fusion. It is coonected via ethernet to my Airport Extreme with an ip of 10.0.1.191. I have tried to install the printer using the driver cd, but no luck on the windows side. I type the ip into firefox on the pc and nothing. On the mac side it works perfect, and the ip comes up. I have network set to bridged in fusion.

Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong or why the pc side wont see it? I am using Win XP if that helps.

Thanks,

I don't understand. You seem to have answered your own question!

Always the yuckster!!!

Do I need to setup wireless access on the pc side?> I assumed (silly me) that it was already established, or is it different from the internet connection.

First verify that the XP side can reach the printer using DOS command line and ping

If it can ping the printer, then you've cleared the networking side of the problem.

Next try installing Apple's Bonjour for Windows:
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/b...ndows.html

This includes a great wizard for printing to Network printers from the Windows side.

Ok...I got it to work. I watched one of VMWares tutorials which was quite good. I had to change to bridge and then "renew" the ip on the pc side.

I hate windows,
