Would the quality of this monitor be better or worse than white 20" iMac display?

Trying to nail down exactly what I would look for to find similar quality without much success.

My iMac's system profiler is silent in terms of what display is built in.

I understand the HP 2007W is the closest thing to an iMac's display (but not necessarily mine, only some); tried to find it online and decided it was d/c'd but then I saw one at Microcenter today for $269 and then noticed it was up on Amazon for $259.

Thanks for any info or random ramblings.

they are very, very similar in quality. damn near identical. except the Samy has slightly larger pixel pitch. according to some web research, some 20" white iMacs have Samsung panels, while others are reported to be LG. the iMac does have a slightly, but noticeable better set of viewing angles, but not that the primary user would notice... the fourth person standing behind the desk might. for an upper-mid range monitor, it's a good choice.

oops, Edit... still a decent monitor, but in my first quick glance I saw it as the 2253BW, rather than LW... the BW is the better rig, and fits the above description.

I thought that the white 20" iMacs have S-IPS panels. The linked Samsung has a TN panel.

Not all of them . . . and there's no way to predict which, unless it tells you, according to the info I've found.

Thanks!

Anyone know how to tell from a listing what sort of panel it is? I don't see that . . .
