A while ago, I posted a silly ebay situation - I got an email from ebay saying that they canceled one of my auctions because of a bogus bidder. They refunded all the fees and removed the auction from existence.
Odd thing was that the auction had already ended, the product shipped and good feedback exchanged. I didn't care, I just saw it as a bonus.
The same thing just happened, but with many new twists.
One day I got an ebay system message from an ebayer that I've never dealt with telling me to NOT ship an item because her Paypal account had been abused. Again, the item had shipped and pleasant feedback exchanged. That was Friday.
I NEVER to reply to such things. Only if Ebay or paypal tells me to do something will I do it.
There WAS one oddity re this auction. In My Ebay, the line item for the auction showed the sale price correctly ($1700) but the total equaled the sale price X2 + the shipping price X1. I thought maybe the winner had somehow paid 2X. So the total read something like $3500. I checked paypal and the transaction looked perfectly normal. I just assume it was a glitch.
On monday, I get an ebay notice telling me that the auction had been canceled.
Once again, my feedback was removed and the auction just vanished from the face of the earth. I'll take the $50+ that they refunded me - nice!, but I'm getting a little worried.
Is someone getting scammed here? If so, I can't fig it out. Anyone see anything like this?
