Where are the firewire 800 hubs?
#1
No place I have looked seems to have them in stock. What did I miss?

There aren't that many to begin with, that I've found. This is the only one I know of with more than 3 ports (it has 8): http://www.nitroav.com/product/113/

We have Belkin two port hubs over here for about £25 ($50). Sometimes advertised as 3 ports but of course you need one to connect to the computer.

One of the many advantages of FireWire is the ability to daisy-chain.

Thanks
Most of the world seems to be out of stock. I have used nitro before so I just ordered another one.

That Nitro is rather utilitarian. And you'd THINK it would have at least ONE 400 port, just because. I guess there are 800 to 400 cables though... correct?

I still like the Firewire Jump Drive. I wish prices of those would come down. Has anyone booted from a large USB 2 drive? If USB 2 is bootable, then a 4GB or 8GB ought to do it, with room for virtual, DiskWarrior and DiskUtility. Perhaps even Techtool 4.6++
