[quote sekker]Come on, who here has need for more than 1TB of storage on most computers?
I have over 2TB of "available" storage on my G5, but am only using about 1.5TB of it right now.

I dunno guys, I appreciate the storage capacities of a CD or hard drive as opposed to a drawer full of photos, but I am trying to get all the most important ones printed and into an actual album. I'm old-fashioned I guess, and I want things(I've said this before) i can look at by candlelight if the power goes down or if modern civilization crashes into a nasty mess.
Assuming I survive of course.

Just where is this timetable you're apparently referring to? Who says development time is a linear process?
And who's broken the 1T "barrier"? It seems to me that in order to break that "barrier", you have to have a drive bigger than 1T.
And given that manufacturers rate a GB as 1 billion bytes, I'd say the "barrier" has yet to be "broken".
Patience, young grasshopper.
