[quote TLB]How about married and 4,085 days without sex...(don't know if that is quite accurate, I kinda lost count after 3000)?
Well, I haven't reached that point but I'm on my way.

I swear kids are the best contraceptive. After you have a couple of them there's no time and no energy. Or that's just a convenient excuse.

Only you can define your own parameters.

Not a huge deal, but a big deal.

It's not that same at three or five times a week, regardless of how many times a day. *Averaging* is not the same as *doing*.

I'd bet an honest survey would show that *50* consecutive days of sex is not common, particularly under the circumstances outlined by the authors.

And as always, let's label the woman a "slut" and not worry about defining the man's character.

"Slut" was a word invented by men to denigrate and control women. Such men will never take responsibility for their own actions. For these "people" it takes a double standard for them to qualify as men.

[quote karsen][quote davester][quote karsen][quote Paul F.][quote karsen]So Annie is a slut, big deal.
In order to meet that definition, she'd have to be having sex with men OTHER than her husband...
So she's perfectly fine...
No, that would be a whore.
Interesting, slut and whore were synonyms for prostitute when I was in high school. That's changed somewhat, or perhaps it was just a regional thing. However, even so, a slut would still be someone who has sex with many men, but not necessarily for money, so you're still wrong.
No, I'm right. A slut has a wanton desire for sex, usually, but not necessarily with many men. According to Dictionary.com a slut is an immoral or dissolute woman; prostitute.

At any rate, I bet Annie's been around the block a few times.
That's pretty ridiculous. You think that a woman is a slut if she likes sex? That's completely nuts...and that equates to "been around the block a few times" (I presume meaning that she has in the past been highly promiscuous with many men). Even crazier. Do you apply the same type of prudish victorian standards to men I wonder?

If I weren't already engaged, I'd be writing to ask if the wife has a sister.

Oddly, you define it for the woman in the story though....
