Good on him !
Anyone remember "White Knight" telecommunications software for the mac (plus) ? The guy wrote it solo, sold it solo, and made a good living from it. We paid gladly.

Wasn't "White Knight" originally called "Red Ryder"?

I remember White Knight. Had it for my modem on my Mac SE.
Anyone remember the "I Am Rich" iPhone app for $999? g=

That's $250,000 profit.
PROFIT. Even after Apple's "outrageous" cut of 30%. $250,000. And he's only going to develop for Apple's 'Phone. And he was able to quit his day job. UFAmazing.

That's really cool. They'll never get a dime from me though. I've spent nearly a grand on two Touches. The feeding tube has been snatched out.

Makes me wish that I had a creative idea for an iPhone app and the ability to create it.

Oh, man, yeah, I think you're right--and I had forgotten about all those file transfer protocols we used to have to worry about on dialup: kermit, xmodem, zmodem.... I remember the way the Red Ryder splash screen used to break up into quadrants and disappear into the corners of the screen EACH AND EVERY TIME YOU STARTED THE APPLICATION. |
