Could have leased the State's jet to the post office, if it hadn't been sold at a half-million $$$ loss.

If only AK had used USPS to mail the jet to its new owner... they could've 'lost' it in transit.

Merchandise is worth what people are willing to pay for it not what you think it is worth. Just ask home sellers.

I ordered a HD from NewEgg early on the 19th and checked the expedited ship box for an additional 2 or 3 dollar charge. It arrived late yesterday (23rd), so that wasn't so fast. However, the price was decent and I didn't need it immediately anyway.

And their shipping to Alaska sucks! Wait, we're not part of the continental US. Or, well, we are on the continent, but not contiguous. Which means that the USPS still charges the same rates as anywhere else in the US. But I'm not bitter. :villagers:

Ditto on that. Their shipping charges to AK are absurd. Same with zipzoomfly, and many others. B&H is one of the only major merchants who offers resonable AK shipping. On a typical order Adorama would charge $27, B&H $7. Amazon is OK, but its an annoying treasure hunt each time to find which item is actually available with the free Super Saver.

They had a different name. Didn't they?

I think they were a spinoff off egghead software, a retail chain. You might be thinking of googlegear, which became ZipZoomFly.http://www.google.com/googlegear.html
Newegg has nothing to do with the old EggHead Software. At one time, on the newegg site, they even stated that. i guess they got asked a few too many times, and just posted the answer.

I've bought a number of items from them. I've always been pleased with their prices and service.
