No, unfortunately the scroll ball does one thing: scroll within windows. Yes, it can scroll vertical, horizontal and even 360 degrees...but this is all within windows. It does not function as a true trackball, meaning it does not control the pointer outside of a window. You have to move the mouse on your desk in order to move the pointer.
I'm looking for a 3rd party hack that will make the scroll ball into a trackball, providing the functionality of a true trackball, such as those made by Logitech, Kensington, etc.
