Can I sync my iPhone 1Password app via wifi to G4 pb without a router?

The 1password app on my iPhone can supposedly sync via wifi. That makes sense when my powerbook is wified to my home network. However, shouldn't the powerbook also be able to act as its own network for the iPhone to sync with? If so, how do I do it?

in system preferences turn on internet sharing, then join the powerbooks wireless network.
