One of my best friends and her little sister went to high school with Mayer (Fairfield Warde HS). His parents still live up the street from their parents and last Christmas the younger sister was hanging out with him, though they never met Jen.

Yeah, I have his Live in LA DVD and he is a very good guitarist. I believe his influences are SRV, Jimi, etc. I think he even has "SRV" tattooed on his body somewhere.

Seems to be. This google page has a couple of snapshots of him, and that "SRV" is there at first, then it's completely surrounded by ink in the next couple of photos.
