Any good video sender units? KWorld for $30?

Looking at this setup:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6815260015

Would be used VERY occasionally, for light TV viewing before falling asleep... news, weather, etc.

I see 3 mixed reviews. The price is certainly low enough to try it.

Anyone here use a wireless video/audio sender like this? Brands that may be better, or ones to avoid?

Again, this would be for use only a few times a year, not on a nightly basis. Thanks.

I've never had good luck with the wireless units. Not sure of your situation but I use the BlackBox video repeaters. They send the cable over a CAT5e cable from device to device. It works great, has good resolution, and the cat 5 cable is super easy to string.

If i'm going to run cable, it's going to be coax cable - why bother with cat5e at that point?

It will have to go from a 1st floor living room to a 2nd floor bedroom, almost directly above.

Cat 5 is easier to pull than coax(shielded RG6), especially around tricky bends. I have done a couple installs where there is no way you could pull coax around but the Cat5 worked great.

In,

Another issue to consider is interference. The system is 2.4 GHz and may interfere with wireless networks.

Robert,

I saw this in regards to your post:

http://dealnews.com/KWorld-Wireless-Medi...62504.html

"This device can connect DVD players, game consoles, and more to your TV wirelessly. While this product uses the 2.4GHz radio range, it does not use 802.11g (a wireless networking protocol)."

I guess that's like a wireless 2.4GHz phone.

In,

Exactly. It may not use the wireless networking protocol but it does use the same spectrum, just like 2.4 GHz cordless phones. So, just like 2.4 GHz cordless phones, it may interfere with wireless networks.

well, the good news is my parents don't have any 802.11g networks at their house.
