Okay guys maybe you can help me.
I'm running OSX 10.4.4 and DreamweaverMX and I'm trying to upload a website via FTP to a local ISP. No matter what settings I use in Dreamweaver I constantly get "An FTP error occured" message. However, if I FTP via Terminal then no problem logging in.
Any thoughts on why this disjointed problem occurs?
Thanks

Without seeing the settings I can't be of much help, and I wouldn't think it'd be smart to share that info with someone from a forum.
My only other suggestion is to try and use another FTP program like CyberDuck and see if that makes a difference.

I agree with karsen on this one -- what are your settings? I suppose you could try checking "use passive FTP" in both Dreamweaver and in Network Preferences. I know DW has been finicky for me once in a while with the settings, but I don't remember the details.

Thanks guys. Took the site to another machine and another copy of Dreamweaver and was able to log in but could communicate with the server, odd. Then I took your advice, downloaded CyberDuck and uploaded it that way. Perfect.
Thanks!
