I have been reading up, and will have the materials on-hand to do the OSX upgrade when it arrives. Belated birthday surprise for the SO. Currently just a 16/1/1.3 model in black - will grab some more ram and a larger drive once availability seems better, since I've been reading that most are backordered or overpriced... better to hit the ground running in her book.

Yeah, my cherry red one came on Monday. I played with it a little last night. Still haven't decided whether to stick with Ubuntu or install OS X. I have to think about whether it's smarter to try to do work (mostly small corrections to graphics files) from on the road by having the apps resident on the netbook (I don't know whether FreeHand will even run on this chip), or by teleporting back to my office computer using LogMeIn.

I'm also planning to use it for giving presentations, and I'm curious about whether it will readily adapt to the resolution of whatever computer projector is present at the university or hotel room.
