Okay, so the unpacking experience is nothing close to any Apple products I've ever had. Very utilitarian. The Mini is okay, nothing compare to Mac's elegance and industrial design. But for $250, who can complain. I ordered one with Ubuntu and it is quite speedy for my needs: web and watching movie files. I am still waiting for Mydigitaldiscount to ship the 32 GB Runcore that I ordered last week. How long is "restocking soon" ? I have everything ready to go sans the Runcore. What should I do until the Runcore arrives when I can actually try to put OS X on this little puppy?

Use it.
You've got probably a 3-4 week wait for the 32 GB RunCore. Friday, I received the 32 GB RunCore that I ordered on 3/12/09.
I called after 3 weeks and they tried to talk me either upgrading to the 64 GB SSD or downgrading to the 16 GB card. Sounded like supplies were better those than the 32.
Something to think about.
Ubuntu isn't too bad. It just isn't OS X.

I'd suggest re-training your typing fingers and getting used to the apostrophe key.

yeah, the Ubuntu setup isn't too bad for surfing. There are also some games that are fun to play. I waited almost a month for my Runcore. I know it's tough, but Ubuntu is ok until you can get Leopard on it.

I am thinking about picking up the 32GB Super Talent for mine, either that or a used Dell pull.
