iPod Touch -- where did the file go?
#1
Via my laptop I uploaded an .mp3 file to the service "YouSendIt" for a client. YouSendIt's standard practice is to then send you and the recipient an e-mail with a clickable link that downloads the file. I happened to be killing time at an airport when I received this confirming e-mail on my iPod Touch and clicked on the link within the e-mail. Safari opened and offered me a page with a download button. I clicked it and my .mp3 played.

Afterwards I thought it would be interesting to see where the file resided on the Touch. Couldn't find it anywhere. Can anyone give me a clue as to where these kinds of files reside on the Touch, if at all? Is there some kind of file search function within the Touch OS that I overlooked when scanning the user guide? Thanks.

The touch plays mp3 files in its temporary memory.
There is no user-accessible file system on the touch.

There may be ways on "jailbroken" touches to access the file, but that discussion is beyond me.

I'm really on the fence about the whole jailbreaking thing. Any thoughts, pro or con, would be appreciated.
