Amazon Apologizes for Kindle Kerfluffle
#1
"This is an apology for the way we previously handled illegally sold copies of 1984 and other novels on Kindle. Our "solution" to the problem was stupid, thoughtless, and painfully out of line with our principles. It is wholly self-inflicted, and we deserve the criticism we've received. We will use the scar tissue from this painful mistake to help make better decisions going forward, ones that match our mission.

With deep apology to our customers,

Jeff Bezos
Founder & CEO
Amazon.com"

This Bezos guy has class, I've liked his attitude for a long time and now I admire him even more.

A tad slow, but that is really an apology!

The power of forgiveness is immense.

I never ask for permission but always ask for forgiveness.

I have FAR more respect for someone who makes a mistake and owns up to it, that I do for someone who appears perfect, but is an ass.

Bezos is the real deal. A friend is very high up in Amazon, and reports to him upon occasion. he is a genuinely nice guy.

It's easier to get forgiveness than permission has been one of my mottos for years.

Back in my solar car team days in college, that was one of our fundamental philosophies. We wouldn't have been able to accomplish half of what we did if we'd always waited for permission.
