Be honest with yourself about how often you expect you'll be changing strings again. If you think you'll regularly restring your Ovation, get D'Addario phosphor bronze, or something like that that's recommended here.
If think you probably won't be consistent about changing strings regularly (it doesn't take long for strings to need replacing, only a month or so, and that's generous) I personally think it's worth it to spend more to buy strings that last longer.
Very few of us are uncompromising about regularly restringing our guitars. Many of us are more likely to play a guitar with dead strings for months before we get around to buying new ones and restringing. Get the best strings that last the longest!
