Oh phooey. My Planar 2010M just lost its native resolution
#1
Native is 1600x1200 but I noticed today the highest selectable choice for it in Display System Preferences is 1280x1024 and reports it now as a Novatek 563D. Color slightly more purple too.

I'll try the usual reboots, reconnecting with VGA instead of DVI etc. but it's not looking to good. A Google search for "Novatek 563D" turns up similar experiences with other OSes, too: http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=novatek+563d&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

Looks like in most of those cases Planar replaced the monitor, so it looks like it is dead...

"I spoke with Planar support, and all my issues were very quickly resolved. This is apparently a common issue with this model of monitor, and has to do with the controller chip or something along those lines. They'll be giving me an Advance-Replacement RMA and paying shipping both ways, and the RMA will not only be the same model number, but also the same part number - no worries about the panel change; I'm getting the same thing I've got now.

Overall, very impressed with Planar. I'd recommend their products to anyone. "
