OCZ Vertex (SSD) took a dive today
#1
Well, that was awesome. Shooting on a digital cinema camera that was using OCZ Vertex SSD's as the storage medium, until one of the drives went dead. Locked up the camera, wasted time, lost 30+ minutes of footage.

Drive doesn't even show up or is recognized on my computer via the USB on its case, or when installed in my OWC FW800 case, or via SATA. Really inspires a lot of confidence in me regarding SSD's.

Sending the drive back to the rental house to see if they can recover anything. I have low hopes.

Oh well, just venting.

You might try Data Rescues free download and see if any of the footable is recoverable.

I've used Data Rescue and Photo Rescue both with great success

Looks like Version 3 is out now

Really inspires a lot of confidence in me regarding SSD's.

People say that *now* about HDs and any given brand when *one* fails.

but but but SSDs are INVINCIBLE!

Who ever even implied that? I've never seen any such reference.
