new imacs and cs3 questions

So the new imacs are tempting me. Currently working on a dual G5 1.8 w/10.4 and CS3.
Can't really afford to upgrade to CS4 and get a new machine. Will CS3 give me problems on the new machines with SL?
What is the sweet spot on the new imacs? Is the quad core/i5/i7 upgrade worth it?
Primary uses a are PS, ID, DW, and reading MR.

*any* new (or even last model) iMac will blow the socks off your Dual G5.

CS3 is a full native Intel app, no problems.

sweet spot? whatever you can afford?

i would most likely go i5 quad core myself, but not sure if any of the adobe apps really take advatage of the extra cores? -- maybe photoshop might like the better 4850 video card...

edit: i wonder if the core 2 duo 3.06 with 8 gigs of ram would be faster than the 2.66 quad core with 4 gigs -- they would be the same cost -- gonna have to wait for barefeats to test them...
