Toast Quits

I have a new Macbook Pro and just tried to burn my first DVD. I had loaned my copy of Bones Season 4 to a friend and their 2 year old trashed one of the discs. It plays ok on the computer but not on the DVD player for the TV, so I thought I'd try to reburn it. I used MacDVDRipper Pro which read the old disc. Then I tried to burn it with Toast 9, but when I hit record, the application quits. I used Toast to back up some data a few days ago and it worked fine (using the same media, Memorex).

I've included the info on my computer and DVD at the bottom of this message. Any help would be appreciated. I've googled it and all the problems I've read about seem to refer to dual layer DVDs, which I'm not using.

Did you update to the latest version of Toast (9.0.7)?

Try using Toast only to Save As ... Disk Image, not burn it. If it works you can either try burning the disk image with Toast or your Mac's Disk Utility. You'll also be able to test the disk image first with your Mac's DVD Player (or get Nice Player) to see if it's worth burning.

Delete the contents of the "Roxio Converted Items" folder -- which is probably in your Documents folder -- and then restart your computer.

When Toast gets into a "crashing mood" it'll keep doing it until you've restarted.

After restarting, set up the disc the way that you did before, but instead of burning, save as a disk image.

Then load the disk image in Toast and burn from the image.

Thanks, I upgraded and rebooted and now it's working fine.
