Hitachi Laptop Drive Warranty--Second One In A Row That Is Bad
#1
The original Hitachi 160 gig drive I had stopped working, stopped spinning and I sent it in for replacement. New drive arrives from Hitachi. Put it in an enclosure and plug USB in ... it starts clicking loudly and computer never sees it. Send that one back. Replacement drive arrived this morning, put it in the same enclosure and ... clicking and blinking, and not recognized by computer.

Is there something I am missing here?

Are you sure your enclosure is good?

It clicked for a while and then stopped spinning at all. I'll try another enclosure.

This is the exact symptoms of an external drive not getting enough power.
