To get around my wireless drops I changed the frequency of the router. The side effect was that my MacBook could no longer find it! I had to reset the router to factory specs. Isn't the computer supposed to find the new frequency?

Weird. Your MB should have been able to find it. You may need to re-set up the location on your MB.
