After a couple of months, a registered letter (that evidently touched a raw nerve), and a few contentious phone calls (last one being yesterday) to the owner of the property (and the builder of my house), the tree came down this morning. I wish I was there to watch it, but as long as it's down, I'm happy. With all the rain we've been getting, the ground is saturated. Every time it rained, I got nervous.
edit: This picture was taken from the main floor of my house, looking down at the tree. The tree was much much higher than my house. It looks like they took it down in 3 parts.
