Move entire iTunes folder from PC to Mac?

A friend of mine has his entire(large with lots of playlists) on an external that was made and managed on a PC. Can I just move entire iTunes folder from PC to Mac?
He has so many playlists, that I think I need to move the entire folder to keep the Playlists intact.
I attempted Home Sharing, and while it will easily move the music, the playlists will not move.

I am open to any other suggestions.

Have you tried this? http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1451 Second Google hit for "itunes playlist location"

There are other ways to move the songs, but yeah, none better than Home Sharing really. Remind your friend to de-authorize his PC's iTunes when he gets rid of it.

Copying the whole folder worked great!!
