I buy it, it makes sense. Remember when Apple dropped computers from its name? Most people thought it was because they didn't think the iPhone/iPods were computers...I think it is an even bigger picture than that. Apple wants to be the global juggernaut of every facet of where life meets technology.

Although I've never used a Zune, an Android phone or Windows phone, I've read they're more "content centric" as opposed to Apple's more app-centered approach on the iPhone. Having not used them, I don't really understand what it refers to but I'm aware they have their fans due to the "content centric" paradigm.

Maybe somebody can weigh in on that.

Reason I bring it up is because Jobs made a point of saying during the OS 4 announcement that "search" (and therefore Google) isn't where it's at in mobile, it's apps. Meaning, users don't spend as much time searching on their mobile devices (as they do at home) but instead are into apps, and so apps are where advertising needs to be attached to. Hence, iAds etc.
