itunes gift card, can i use it to buy a computer?

I sent my brother an itunes gift card and he wants to know if he can use it towards the purchase of a computer. Anybody know?

iTunes cards are only good for stuff on the iTunes store. Music and videos.

....no...you can only use it ON a computer......to redeem at the iTunes Store.....

The funny thing is that the regular Apple Store gift cards -- which ostensibly can only be used for non-iTunes purchases -- can be used to buy iTunes cards which can then be redeemed to buy music, but it doesn't work the other way around.

You might be able to work a deal at an Apple store if you ask nicely. Worth a try.
